  • Roast Chicken

Dinner last night : Honey roast chicken with mushroom saute with garlic and cream. Look how tender the meat was! My chef has come lightyears since he started cooking for me in 1998!

Remember when I went missing? The day after I informed my alma mater of my new address, this Carol person replied and thanked me. Then a week later I got this from her! The package included a bi-annual magazine and also the usual booklet with alumni (or as we call it "guild members") voluntarily sending them news about themselves. One old lady wrote something which was very sad. Basically her husband died and she has been lonely. Recently her driver's licence was revoked because of her age (90!!), making trips to the local supermarket difficult. I feel sorry for her. A very sad account in deed. But do I really need to know about this?

I made banana bread last night with a new recipe - I replaced white sugar with brown. The result was a nice looking, brown banada bread. But it was not sweet. And we like things sweet. So it's back to white sugar next time!

    Updates on Bitch :

I got home yesterday and I briefly spoke to Mr Chan, Bitch's surpervisor. He was very apologetic and he said he thought Bitch got a strange personality too.

This morning pig's mum phoned Bitch. When I saw Bitch she actually smiled at me. It was creepy.

Anyway I'm glad it is all over now.

  • There are two entrances to the building where I currently reside. On "P" floor there is a password-locked door next to where the security people sit, and on "G" there is a locked gate, which leads to the car park with a capacity of 6 cars (ie. tiny), then another door to the lifts.

The whole mess started on 14/Jan when I moved home.

As you can see from the link. I had more than 10 big bags to move. On that day I opened the gates which normally are closed so I could move faster so the lorry won't block the street for too long.

Bitch, one of the day-shift guards, marched up to me and said, "What's going on here?"

She insisted on standing there because the gate was opened and she said it was her job to keep the building secured. I gave her that. So she stayed.

10 minutes later I had moved all the bags inside the carpark and I closed the gates. I said, "You can leave now. The gate is shut." And she insisted she had to stay to watch the carpark (which was empty). She sounded like a responsible employee, except that she was actually listening to my cousin arguing with the lorry driver who suddenly decided to charge us an extra HK$200. I said to her, "It really is none of your business. The doors and gates are locked and they cannot come in. You should leave." Bitch said the same thing about her job required her to stay, blah blah.

What I did next was really childish and was what started the whole crap. I said, "You're old and fat and ugly and you make me sick. Now get out of my sight" (§A¤S¦Ñ¤SªÎ¤S¼Ë"Áö", §Ú"´£"¨ì·Q¹Ã§r! §A§Öd¨«§r!)

That totally destroyed her! She repeated what I said several times loudly. I couldn't be bothered to deal with her any longer and I went home.

Then her annoying abusive antics began...

    No. 1
A week or two later, we crossed paths (literally) down the street. She was on her own and so was I. She looked ahead and whispered to herself (but in fact to me) at the point when we crossed paths "Crazy!" (·ö½u!)

    No. 2
She refuses to open the doors for me or addresses me when she sees me around. This is a not usual practice with all other doormen in her company. All of them smile and say, "Hello Mr/ Mrs/ Ms Whoever!" when someone walks in.

    No. 3
At times when me and jkpiggy left the building and walk past Bitch's seat she greeted loudly and cheerfully as if we are deaf, "Good morning Mr Kwan!" to which jkpiggy can only respond with a smile. Note : I was with jkpiggy and she did not greet me. I told jkpiggy not to respond in case Bitch thinks, "Ha ha even your boyfriend thinks you were wrong to call me old fat and ugly!"

    No. 4
I went home with a friend yesterday. Seconds earlier she had just let a stranger (I think he was a gas company employee) into the building and she held the door open for him. She saw us, and quickly closed the door while looking into my eyes. I deliberate knocked on the door (which was made by glass so she could toally see me) to get her attention, instead of opening it myself. She looked at me for 3 seconds then carried on talking to the gas man. In the end the gas man opened the door for me.

    No. 5
I was leaving for work yesterday and I walked past the carpark. Bitch was there chatting with the cleaner. When she saw me she yelled, "It stinks!!! It stinks of rats!!!" twice. (¦n¯ä§r!!! ¦Ñ¹«¨ý¦n¯ä§r!!!) Seriously, I could smell nothing strange in the carpark.

I have had it. Last night I decided that sometime this week I will go talk to her co-worker and ask him to tell her that will not put up with her non-sense. The reason why I have not filed a complaint is because I don't want her to lose her job. If situation does not improve within a week then I will write to the management company and have her removed from the building.

I consulted jkpiggy, who has not been very support since he believed that I got myself into this with my childish act. But this morning he said I should not warn her and should go ahead with the letter instead. But he also said, "I don't think you can get rid of her easily." And I replied, "Yea? I will pull a Shawshank Redemption and write to them every week until she disappears!"

I was very pleased that he took my side.

5 minutes later jkpiggy's mum called. I told her what happened and now she is going to do the dirty work for me!! OMG!!  Bitch is on leave today and will be back tomorrow for a little surprise!! Muahahahahaha!!!

What bothers him and his mum is the fact that, despite me saying something extremely stupid which I shouldn't have done (which I agree), Bitch should provide the quality service which we have paid for, and which her company has promised on their website.

    I will keep you posted!

  • painting

This is a painting of my late aunt Mamie who died in 1987. It once hang in her room at my Grandma's. And when Grandma died in 1990, my mum got the painting. It now hangs at home in Vancouver.

As usual, I kicked jkpiggy out of bed at 6:30am for work, and I went back to sleep. This morning I had a nightmare. I was at my late aunt's house, somewhere I have not visited since 1987. There were paintings of her all over the place, and the she was moving in the paintings!!! It was really scary but I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want to scare them too. (How considerate!!) Eventually the fear got better of me and I told mum (in my dream of course) and she said, "Don't worry. It happens all the time." Bloody hell! What a weird dream!

I also dreamed of aunt Mamie several years ago. It was some sort of family lunch, and she sat with us like she was alive. I was totally freaked out. And mum said, "Don't look at her! Pretend she is not here! Don't look!"

And this was not my first dream of a moving painting. more than 10 years ago I had a poster in my bedroom of a local band called Beyond whose lead singer had died from a fall. I was too scared to take the poster off my wall, fearing that his ghost might come after me because I was disrespectful to him. (Ha ha! So childish!) Later I dreamed that the deceased singer kept spinning inside (?) the poster! OMG! I was petrified! The next day I got my maid to take it off the wall so she was the one who was disrespectful to the dead singer, not me!

I am probably going crazy ha ha ha!!!

    Introducing MR NATHAN TSANG

Born on 19 March 2007 to my friends Gracie and Jason.

I know a newborn's face changes everyday but from the picture Gracie sent me, young Nathan is a spitting image of Gracie!! He is so cute! I can't wait to see + touch him!

It is weird to think that me and everyone who sees this actually knows Nathan's name before Nathan himself does???!!!

I was supposed to have the last of the 5 Trusts revision classes at 2:30pm today. At 1:27pm I got this on my mobile :

URGENT : Today afternoon trusts class has been cancelled due to lecturer's sickness. Make-up class will be informed by letter later.

I'm lucky because I live really close to school and I was not even ready to leave the house yet. But a lot of my classmates travel up to an hour for school.

I wish they had told me earlier so I could go on the boat with jkpiggy!!! Now I'm stuck at home revising!!!

I got off class at 8:40pm last night so I decided to make an APPLE CUSTARD TARTE following this recipe. I followed it strictly and OMG it was too sweet! I would suggest 1/2 or 1/3 the sweetness for anyone out there who is interested in making one too! It was really easy to make though. I will definitely give it another shot with a modified recipe.

  • SWEET 18

    RANGRANG

I began re-watching SWEET 18 on Sunday night.

SWEET 18 is about a couple who got together by arranged marriage and eventually fall in love, as they always do in the fantasy world.

Back at UCL an Indian girl in my class announced that she was getting married by arranged marriage. Others were quite curious...

Others : Do you actually know that guy?
Girl : Yes! We have met several times.
Other : So you don't have a choice at all?
Girl : I do! It's not like I must marry him. But I do fancy this guy.

You see, arranged marriage is not a bad idea at all. It totally eliminates spinsterhood for those who participates. And for sure parents would give their seal of approval on potential spouses. Freedom is not always a good thing. It just makes everything 1000 times more complicated don't you think? And if you let your parents choose your other half, then when shit happens you can totally blame them!

I expanded my list of blogrings today!! Hee hee!

  • All my friends know that I rarely go across the Victoria Harbour. In fact, I hardly ever leave Central / Sheung Wan because I live and work here!

On Sunday I went ALL THE WAY to Tuen Mun! Gosh! We went from :
Home --> North Point (where jkpiggy parks his car... at his friend's carpark!) --> Clearwater Bay (to meet with jkpiggy's folks) --> Sai Kung (to meet with their boatboy) --> Goldcoast in Tuen Mun

OMG! I think I had done enough travelling last week to fill up 6 months' quota!

Some photos from the boat show. The weather was shit . What the hell is wrong with the weather these days? Is it fog or smog? Or both?

Buildings built close together, forming what is known as "screen effect". This is becoming more common in HK. We will all die as a result of air pollution sooner or later. Sigh. It didn't strike me until several months ago : I was having lunch at Intercontinental Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, ie. right by the harbour, and I looked across the harbour and could hardly see Wanchai!!!

    Image268 jkpiggy's new speedboat

I left work yesterday and had to deliver some stuff at my aunt's office nearby. I walked up Pottinger Street and I thought : Maybe I'll go look around H&M! When I reached Queen's Road Central... OMG... there were like 50 people queueing up to get in! I thought : f**k it! I'll go when the hype has died down! It's not like I have never shopped at H&M ha ha ha! (Yes, totally sulking!  )

    To HKers:

Did anyone see ¥ú¼v¬y±¡ on TVB Jade last night? It was soooooo good! If you didn't then you should definitely catch it at 11pm next Monday!!

I am old. You can totally tell from what I enjoy watching! *LOL*
