  • FRIDAY

    Image224.jpg

Went to HKU during lunch to hand in my forms. I was on my way back to Central when I saw this school bag on the minibus. I also went to the same kindergarten from, hmmm, 1983 to 1986. Back then our bags were of a different design. Ours were ones which hang off one shoulder and goes across the body diagonally. The school must have changed it so that kids can fit more books in. Poor boy!

    SATURDAY

A taste of how boring school is. This lecturer has given us an excellent and thorough set of notes. But during the lectures he just reads off the notes ha ha ha!!! Got 2 more lectures left, and all class for this year is done! OMG! When I return from Vancouver I will have revision lectures. OMG! Very worrying!

    Image187.jpg

I waited at this bus-stop for over 20 minutes, which was really unusual. I took a bus to Central for dinner with some classmates. That night I had a dream about exam results being really poor. But it was not Law exams, but rather I had French, and got 4% for it! Ha ha! jkpiggy said, "Thhat's a wake up call for you to start your revision!" Yes, totally! The dream freaked me out completely!

    SUNDAY

  • R.I.P. ANNA NICOLE SMITH

Could her life be anymore dramatic?

Financially deprived single mum... Playboy Playmate of the Year... Marriage to J. Howard Marshall, 63 years her senior... Fought to inherit his fortune... Got fat... Reality show... Got thin... Birth of daughter Danielynn... Sudden death of son Daniel... Non-legally binding marriage (marriage?) to Howard K. Stern... Sudden death!

    Gosh!

  • CANTOPOP

jkpiggy had to work last night and I spent the whole evening sorting out the 100s of Cantopop songs on my computer. Over the years I have collected sooooooo many songs through illegal sources. Most of the songs come from CDs which cannot be found even at HMV. Last night I focussed on ±i¥ß°ò, §d°ê·q and ±h¼á¼y.

Okay I know I am old, but I don't care. Young local singers aren't even singers. I can sing better than them for God's sake! jkpiggy thinks I am really sad (as in pathetic not unhappy) because I listen to song which people are embarassed to listen to. And I don't care!

I am happy to share my MP3s with anyone who is interested. I also have a bizarre collection of Cantopop including ¾G¤Ö¬î, ®ü«T³Ç, ±ç²y (the blind singer), ¸¼w¼_, ªL·¡ÄQ, Citybeat, etc. Ha ha ha!!!

    cheunglapgay

±i¥ß°ò, often associated with ºÂ·¡Å, has never been my favourite or one of my favourites, not even when he was "in the scene". This guy has been missing (but perhaps not missed) from local showbiz since mid 90s. His best one is ¬ß§A¦¹¨è©b¦V§Ú :

    ±q«e¬O¹ï¬O¿ù
    µL¿×¿ë§O¡@±IÀR©]²`¥æµ¹§A©M§Ú
    ¬°¦ó©ñ±ó·R¡@©ñ±ó¦¹¨è³o¨Ç¹Ú ¦A³o»ò¶Ì
    ¬ß§A¦¹¨è©b¦V§Ú

I have the following songs : Electric Girl (ha ha), ©]®ø¨I, ©p¨«¤F, ©p¦n¶Ü (recentlyresung by At 17). The one I really want is P-A-S-S-I-O-N! Ha ha!!!

    P-A-S-S-I-O-N ¤õ¿S¤õ¿S¤õ¸Ì§k¡@²`®d²`²`¤ß¦L¤ß P-A-S-S-I-O-N

I can spell the word PASSION thanks to this song! Ha ha ha!!!

    ngkwokging

§d°ê·q's ·Q©p is one of my favourite songs.

    ¤´µM´Á±æ¦A»E¡@«o¥¼¯à¹J ¨Ƥw®ø¥¢·¸Ì
    ¤´µM§b¥ß³o¦aÃh·Q©p
    ·í¤Ñ®ü·¸ÌÂ÷§O©p ¨Ãä¦AµL¦ñ«Q
    ªÅµêº¡¤ß¡@¦û¾Ú

I once had the real-audio version but never the MP3. I went on this website last night and asked for ·Q§A and °s©±¤j°ó and within 10 minutes the songs were uploaded for me! Omg! I also have ¬O§_ on my computer, downloaded from when I was in London. Don't really like his songs during his brief "come back" in the late 90s.

    yuchignhing

±h¼á¼y sings better in his live performances than in the recording studio. ¾aªñ is my favourite. The acoustic version is amazing.

    ¾aªñ§A´N¦b¤µ±ß¡A·P¨ü©¼¦¹¤ß¤¤·Å·x¡I
    ¯à¤£¯à¡H ¾aªñ§Ú´N¦b¤µ±ß¡A¤£n¦AÅý©¼¦¹¿ò¾Ñ¡I
    ¦b¤µ±ß¡I

    I also have ·Qú´N¨ì§ÚÃh¸Ìú, ·Q©À§A, Åý§Ú¤@¦¸·RÓ°÷, and ¬Kªd.

    Ha ha!!!

And my favourite singer in the 90s is...

  • RANDOM...

On Saturday jkpiggy came home with two cuts of Kobe beef with the intention to panfry them for dinner. When he got home he got a little nervous because the steaks were quite expensive and he really did not want to screw them up ha ha! This was the end result :

    Image217

It was SO good!!! The beef melted in my mouth. *slurp* He also put potatoes and carrots with parsley and honey sauce on the side and they were absolutely delicious too. He called it "Heaven Eleven" ha ha!!

    Image220
Dinner last night at Rei Sushi at IFC. This is probably the only Japanese restaurant in HK that charges you for green tea. We only went there because jkpiggy wanted to eat his favourite glowing squids which I think look and taste revolting!! The squids were cut up into small strips and they came in a bitter sauce. Ewww.

    Image222

I saw some colourful macarons on my way to Rei Sushi and told jkpiggy I wanted some. And after dinner he got me a box of macarons! Hee hee! And he said, "Damn it! I didn't know they were so expensive!" Ha ha!

I found books by Taiwanese actresses on beauty, skincare, etc. online!

  • I recently found a roast chicken recipe online and asked jkpiggy to make it. This is the photo of the chicken in the recipe :

    Roast Chicken with Carrots

And below is jkpiggy's second attempt :

    IMG_0008.JPG

    *slurp*

The chicken was really tender and juicy and sweet (from the carrots)!!! He also added mushroom slices and leek too. The secret is to let the spring chickens sit in a bath of chicken broth and let the carrots caramelise. Chicken is done when the broth evaporates.

Will bake a banana bread this weekend. I miss baking very much. Now that I have my stuff around me I can give jkpiggy a treat from time to time!

  • GOODBYE FLAT 16D

2 Sundays ago (14/Jan) my cousin and his son helped me move home. When I moved from Flat 8B to Flat 16D in May 2003, my belongings, including 1 bookshelves and 1 computer desk, only occupied one van. This time my cousin ordered a 3.3 tonne lorry for me! Ha ha ha!!!

    IMG_0001.JPG
The frame of my bed! LOL! And so much rubbish underneath it!

My best friend J is getting her own flat and she has inherited some of my things. I am so glad she did because we had fewer items to move! Ha ha!

I waited in the streets while my cousin and his son moved my stuff down. I really had so much stuff ha ha ha!

I sat at the front seat to direct the lorry drive to my new place. Never sat in a lorry before until then. Ha ha!

    YESTERDAY

I finally handed the keys back to my stupid landlady yesterday evening. It felt like a phase in my life had just gone. I was not sad, but rather I was very excited to move on. But still I felt a little sad leaving Flat 16D. I had spent 3.5 years here afterall. It struck me the other day that I won't be living by myself until jkpiggy dies or something. Ha ha!

On Sunday I asked my part-time maid to clear out the flat, including mopping up dust. Flat 16D seemed so big suddenly.

  • Remember the birthday present I got from my girlfriends?

    giftcert

I also forgot about it too. Luckily I remembered several days ago, before it expires!

The gift certificate is for a facial at The Oriental Spa of Mandarin Landmark. When I arrived I was greeted and had my shoes taken away and my feet slipped into slippers. Then I was shown around the premises : the typical ones like changing room, shower, sauna, and also a jacuzzi. The best thing was the relaxation room. I didn't really have time to get wet so I put on the bathrobe and entered the relaxation room.

Lights in the room were dimmed and there were 6 beds with reading lamps and a headphone which brought spa music to my ears. The room's purpose was 100% served!

The facial itself was quite enjoyable too and my skin still feels soft now (the next afternoon). I was persuaded to purchase a tube of deep cleansing mask and I didn't after the facial lady kept criticising how poor my skin was throughout the facial. Ha ha! I was hoping maybe they would ask me to buy some kind of facial packages but no one said a word. Oh well.

When I got home I talked to jkpiggy about how good it was for half an hour. Hopefully he got the message and knows what to get me for Valentine's Day!

I guess I really am getting old. My skin is no longer smooth and I just keep putting on weight. Mannings and Watson's (local drugs stores) were both on sale last week and I got myself several boxes of Olay and Neutrogena paper masks on Thursday. I used to buy loads and didn't touch them and then ended up in the bin. Anyway I have been working hard and resting a paper mask on my face every evening since. I *think* my face feel more hydrated. Not sure though. Anyway when I'm done with these ones I'll go buy some better ones.

    steam

Side note : As a child I once saw my mum using a facial steamer like this one above. She sat at her makeup "corner" and had her whole face inside. She remained in the same position for around 15 minutes. I actually thought she was trying to kill herself by inhaling some kind of toxic gas or something. Ha ha!!

  • FEAR CAN HOLD YOU PRISONER. HOPE CAN SET YOU FREE.

    shawsh5

THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION was in tele again last night. jkpiggy and I were so excited about it, despite having watched it a dozen times before. It is really thought-provoking. I learn something new everytime I see it.

I read somewhere that the Film is like a good bottle of red - the longer you keep it, the richer its aroma.

I prefer films with a good and complete ending. Apparently the Stephen King book the film was based on has an opening ending with Red on his way to Zihuatanejo. I am so glad that director added the last scene of the film where Red and Dufresne reunited.

I guess I am like Brooks in some ways. I keep saying how I hate the Bank but I just stay here anyway. I have been institutionalised too I guess, and it is not healthy.

    borat2

We thought they would never show the Borat film here in Hong Kong but it is coming soon! OMG! We thought we were only going to see it on DVD. It will be in cinemas starting this Thursday the 1st of February. Hee hee! jkpiggy and I are big fans of Sacha Baron Cohen. I first saw him as Ali G interviewing Posh and Becks for Comic Relief back in 2001 and we laughed so hard ha ha! I am so excited! OMG! Borat is not my favourite character among SBC's creations. I prefer Ali G. Ha ha!

To HKers : I can't stop laughing at the Chinese name that they have adopted. WTF?

  • *YAWN*

Last night we had dinner with a few old friends from our London days. It was good to catch up with them. Life seemed to be treating them well. Mr J and Mr B with their respective girlfriends whom I have not got to know very well yet. Hopefully I will get to know them better. It is weird since Mr B's exgirlfriend Miss K is someone I have known since infancy ha ha! We were careful not to mention K's name in front of B's current girlfriend Miss M last night, but Miss W did it anyway! Oops!

I also found out that my good good good friend Miss W's little sister is getting married... ahead of all of us old farts ha ha ha!!! And Miss W, who broke up with a really horrible exboyfriend Mr A last year, has found new love in Mr T who is currently working on his MBA at Stanford. This means they are maintaining a long distance relationship. Hmm. Anyway ,W said she has never been happier. I reminded her that she said the same when she first started dating her exboyfriends, to which she replied, "F**k you!" but insisted that this time she is really very very happy! And I am relieved that she has finally found new love.

The funniest thing was when we asked Miss W what her new beau's Chinese name was and she forgot and she phoned the poor guy (I think it was 5am his time), woke him, and asked, "Hello baby! What is your name really?" Ha ha!

  • ANOTHER BORING ENTRY... OOPS!!!

    Image202
Our lecturer took off his jacket and everyone was like "Look at his biceps!" This New Zealander is well into his 50s but still fit and funny! Ha ha!

    Image206
jkpiggy wanted to take me to Pierre Gagnaire on my birthday but the restaurant told him that they were fully booked until 20-Jan. So we were going to have a posh dinner on Saturday. But what happened was : we had totally forgotten about it until Friday. I had been wanting to cook a lasagne for weeks and we had plans to make one last Saturday. Anyway as things turned out we stayed home and cooked instead. Very happy hee hee! I think our lasagne sheets were too long for the tray ha ha!

    Image207
This is Mr Kwok Sun, an artist who teaches art close to my old flat. Boss Gurly's ARTcubator is so much cooler, and the teachers are more pleasing to look at! Ha ha!!

Finally got some time off from school this week. And by that I mean I will be travelling to HKU twice only, compared to 4 or 5 times. Had my facial done last night, followed by dinner with Boss Gurly. Will be meeting some friends for dinner tomorrow evening. I haven't seen them since maybe June or July!!! It seems that I don't really have a social life anymore since I started my part-time course. Hm...
