Another class last night. Just as I thought I could stay home and rest tonight, both air-conditioners in my bedroom broke down and I need to get them fixed after work! Why God Why?

Anyway I took this picture because I couldn't be bothered to write the questions down!! Ha ha ha!!!

Got an old-fashioned goody-goody french manicure the other day and my stupid boyfriend  seems to like it. No more jet black nails for me!! Saw them on silly-gurly's fingers last week and I was soooooo jealous!!

Apparently, after telling a lie a hundred times, you will believe that the lie is actually the truth.

I think we are all getting branwashed by the Group...

  • Went to school AGAIN!! By the way I'm going to school everyday this week except Friday. Eeek!!

Rain was really heavy this morning, like raining cats and... no, elephants and hippos! It was horrible.  left at 7:45am and called me 10 minutes later to warn me about it. Well  there really was nothing I could do to stay dry, so now I am sitting on a wet dress, and I will be sitting on this same dress until 10pm when my class finishes. Nice!!!

Normally in sh*tty weather like today I would grab my lunch from IFC which is across a covered bridge. But today I have a manicure appointment during lunch and I have no choice but to walk in the rain again! Yes, I will be walking to my manicurist under typhoon signal no.3 as well as RED rainstorm warning signal!! Yippee!!

Saw a fellow student who looks older than the other old man who really got on my nerves some months ago. By the way that guy doesn't talk to me or my friends anymore. To refresh your memory, he kept sending negative vibes among us by saying, "What?! You haven't started your revision?! You are so doomed!" etc. I just snapped and asked him to stop scaring me. And he decided to avoid us. It is totally fine by me. He used to call me 3 times a week for an hour each time just to talk about himself. Ewww!!

Got home and  greeted me with a plate of greasy chicken kiev. We used to have chicken kiev a lot back in London. But according to  only one kind of frozen chicken kiev is available at Great. He also made a big pot of oxtail soup with his new toy - high speed pot. That guy is so in love with the pot!!!

  • HOW TYPICAL!!!

I am prone to making silly/ funny mistakes.

Yesterday I went to school with my classmate DC. She had to get some batteries and so she asked me to go ahead and save our seats in the classroom. I walked into the classroom and saw several buddhist nuns like this one below:

You know, with bald head and yellow robes, the whole lot. And there were maybe 5 of them all sitting in the classroom.

I thought : That's odd?! Why are nuns taking law?

Then I thought : Ah! We are in the 21st century now. Buddhist nuns need to improve themselves and progress with the society too!

Fellow students also looked more mature than the ones I had last year. But since I was joined by new classmates too, I thought maybe it was also quite normal.

So I got myself a seat and settled down.

Several minutes later a lady came up to me and gave me a pile of printed A4 sheets "for discussion," she said. She asked me to take one and pass the rest down the row. I looked at the piece of paper and the first line said : UNIVERSITY OF HONG KONG CENTRE OF BUDDHIST STUDIES!!!!!

Ha ha!! The first day of school and I walked into the wrong classroom!!!

Luckily, DC turned up and we found the correct place.

Land Law was ok. Our lecturer CW seemed really enthusiastic, if not overenthusiastic about the subject, as reflected in her animated gesture when teaching. I saw many familiar faces and of course more new faces. I also happened to bump into my Harvard-grad friend AC who is in the 1st year. The canteen at Uni of HK got refurbished over the summer and it now looks a lot nicer. Staff have been retrained too. Now we have cleaning ladies who also greet us as we walk in and leave!! Hee hee! And there is a new Pret a Manger too!! HK students are so lucky. UCL canteen only served food that was greasy and yucky and extremely expensive. Once I got myself a pasta salad and some fried chicken for . We each had a softdrink and the total came to £8!! Last night I had really nice soup noodles which only cost an equivalent of £1.50!!!

We are going to a new classroom tonight. I hope I will find the right place ha ha!!!

CROCS - probably the fugliest shoes EVER!!!!

saw them on our diving instructor and other divers and wanted a pair too. We couldn't find it at Marathon Sports last weekend and  was quite disappointed. Yesterday stupid gurly and I saw them in Lei Yuen Street East and I immediate said to her,
    "They are so f**king ugly!"
    "I think so too."

For HK$49 the ones I bought were not the real mccoy but they keep  happy nonetheless. He tried them on and he looked like -->  and went, "I am a diver!!!" Gosh!! And this morning he walked around in them before work!! Bloody hell! He really does love his fake Crocs!!

has big feet for an asian man. I had to buy the stall's largest size, which was 11 or 45. When he saw his Crocs he said, "Didn't you get a pair too?" and I was like, "No way!"

  • I am feeling extremely nervous at the moment. Actually I have had butterflies in my stomach since yesterday and last night I couldn't sleep until 3am.

Exam results have finally arrived, but I won't see them until I get home. My colleague S.A. asked her mum to fax her the result slip and found out that she has to retake her Public Law exam. This made me more nervous. OMG what am I going to do if it didn't work out?

AAARRRGGGHHH!!! Can't wait to go home and open my postbox with my trembling hands! Got another hour to go!!! The wait is excruciating!!!!

    Just got home and...

     I HAVE PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SATURDAY

Had the last of my scuba diving videos sessions which finished in the evening.  came to shop with his old gear to see whether they were still usable. Well unfortunately they were too old and the plastics had gone hard so he had to get a new set of gear, and another set for me!

I do regret not choosing Tokyo as our holiday destination. For Maldives  has to splash out more $$$ and I have to pay for my own diving lessons, which, by the way, were extremely scary! (See below)  promised to pay for my shopping if we had gone to Tokyo. Sigh. But he really needs a break and I know he has been longing for a relaxing holiday in a tropical resort-type location rather than another buzzling city.

We had dinner at a small cha chaan teng in Jordan. I had my favourite eggplant pot which was really greasy but at the same time really yummy!!

finally told me off for painting my nails black. He couldn't explain it but he just hated it. I kept the varnish on until it chipped away the next day. OMG the next day...

    SUNDAY

My first ever scuba diving experience... OMG!!!

We arrived in Sheung Sze Wan before 9am but I was too nervous had only slept for 4 hours.

I got into my wetsuit as soon as we got there. OMG it was like wearing a thick coat in a rain forest. I was sweating like a pig and almost passed out!!! OMG!!!

At first I couldn't get used to breathing through the regulator and my mouth. After breathing through my nose for more than 26 years I felt as if I would suffocate when under water. I was petrified even thought the instructor grabbed my wrist throughout. After the first dive of a mere 5 minutes I was too scared to go again. I wanted to cry but I didn't because I didn't want to disappoint . Every second under water was torturous. I just wanted to go home and sleep.

gave me a you-are-bloody-useless stare and so I went under water again. This time I was more confident and I could control my breathing pattern better.  came up to me and held my hand and I felt so much better hee hee!!  said he saw that I was really tense and was holding onto my buoyancy control really tight and so he came to comfort me! Hee hee!!

By the end of the lesson I gained confidence and didn't freak out as much and was more willing to try things.

Come to think about it : I am doing this for him really! And he should be thankful!

I was breathing so hard that I used 1/4 more air than  who is a lot bigger ha ha!

Got 2 or 3 more sessions to go before our holiday! Wish me luck!

(Btw, law exam results are coming reeeeal soon! Wish me luck on that too!!!)

  • This is Maggie whom I gave my lovely Mitsubishi phone to. Yesterday was her last day in the office before her 10-week long maternity leave.

Baby Chloe is due on 7th Sept. I saw her grew inside Maggie and I have felt her kicks!! It was amazing!! OMG I can't wait to see Chloe!!!

To prepare for our holiday,  has forced me to take lessons for scuba diving. Now I really regret not picking Tokyo as our holiday destination. If we went to Tokyo would cover all costs plus he would give me some "shopping money" too. Now I have to pay for these lessons and also all the gear that goes with it!!! Argh!!!

Anyway, I had my first lesson on Tuesday. It was video + quiz. Easy peasy. It was supposed to be 4 hours long and I was completely freaked out by that! I am not sure what happened but I was allowed to leave after 1.5hr. Will have 2 more sessions of videos and quizzes then 2 practical training sessions and I'm done!!!
