  • Typhoon PRAPIROON

Bloody hell!!!!!!!! I was absolutely soaked from waist down on my way to work this morning!!!!! I swear the rain hit me horizontally. My umbrella could only protect me waist up. When I got to work I had to dry my skirt under the hand-dryer. I can't get it dried up completely so now I am sitting on a damn skirt and it is really irritating!!! And the leather straps on my shoes are also damp. Eeeeek!!!

Typhoon signal no.3 has been hoisted for almost a day now. Unless a no.8 is hoisted, everyone has to come to work. People in neighbouring Macau can stay home for a day because they are lucky to have no.8.

It doesn't seem to be getting closer to Hong Kong (the little red star). Why? We have not had a no.8 since 2004! Conspiracy has it that our government-owned Observatory has a secret agreement with various business leaders that they won't put no.8 up unless it is absolutely necessary. I swear I did not feel safe walking to work this morning. I could wait for a bus, but I still had to walk some distance to my office and I would get wet either way.

It seems to me that $$$ > life. Why is our society so f**ked up?

  • I'm supposed to be on this self-devised 'half-of-what-I-usually-eat' diet for the next month. On Monday silly-gurly ruined my plan by force-feeding me with 1/4 of her club sandwich. Last night ruined it by taking me out for dinner at Petrus because, "I am dying for a foie gras ravioli!"

I had their vegetarian menu last night but still felt fat!!! And worst of all I had a massive *~coffee macaroon with mascarpone cream and vanilla ice-cream~* for dessert! Damn it! So, as we all say, I'm starting again today!

So people, STOP tempting me with food please!! I have put on sooooo much weight and I really need to get rid of all of it!!!

's nails are disgusting and his fingers are short and fat.

We don't really go anywhere outside Central or Admiralty. Life is really quite dull. I wonder how fun our holiday in Tokyo will be? I can just see it:  will be either sleeping or eating and will tell me to go shopping by myself. Hey we've sort of got the dates set: 22/Sept to 25/Sept!!

To silly-gurly: Last night I suggested PK's favourite restaurant "kneeling T" and we are going there next time!

  • TOKYO

Our holiday to Tokyo has been postponed again due to 's busy schedule. We were supposed to go straight after my exams, but now the earliest we can leave will be in mid September.

We are planning to spend 4 days and 3 nights there and we want to stay at Conrad Tokyo. To 's surprise : Gordon Ramsay has 2 restaurants at Conrad!! Although nothing is confirms yet,  is already mega excited about the food!

I have never really been to Japan before. By really, I am excluding the 1 hour transit I spent at Narita back in 1987 on my way home from San Francisco to HK. Like many young people(  !!) of my generation here in HK, I grew up with Japanese dramas like Toyko Love Story, Tokyo Cinderella, etc. Tokyo is like the place to visit. OMG I am really looking forward to it!! All the shopping + food!!! Yay!!!

  • Chelsy ... didn't spend a princely sumHarry ... cheap date

    From THE SUN :

Prince Harry’s sexy girlfriend Chelsy Davy shunned posh boutiques in London’s Chelsea yesterday to grab high street sale bargains.

The 21-year-old blonde strolled unrecognised down King’s Road clutching several bags of cheap clothing.

No doubt Harry would have been impressed with her thriftiness — and that of brother William who bought a T-shirt for £1.

Wills, 24, bought the plain red top in at Tesco Supermarket. A stunned check-out girl reportedly fainted. Wills was stocking up for a barbecue with pals in Cheriton, Kent.

To my fellow HKers : I'm going to see Softhard tomorrow!!! OMG! I am so excited! I have been a big fan since 1988!!!

  • Loved it loved it loved it!

    I really enjoyed the film!

I know people like Roger Ebert gave it negative reviews, but I am giving 2 thumbs up. I have never seen the original ones, and I didn't know that Superman comes from Krypton before yesterday! The only Superman I have seen was the one with Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher more than 10yrs ago!

I was so happy to see my cousin Carina. And I only found out yesterday that her new home is only 10 mins walk away from mine!!! I will get her to cook for me when is not around... ha ha!!

The film reminded me of 2 more characters from some Japanese cartoons I used to watch as a child:

Superman from Dr Slump - this guy is useless. One minute you see him flying, the next you realise that he has his whole body on a moving skate-board, you know, with his arms stretched forward like he is flying... ha ha!!!

Ninja Hattori-kun from cartoon of the same name. This guy is like the Japanese kid version of Superman. Like his American counterpart, Ninja Hattori-kun saves his friend's arse all the time. He can fly and do magic too!

(Yes it is probably time for me to grow up ha ha ha!!!)

  • Everytime and I have a fight he always makes it up to me by giving me good food. Food. What does he think I am? Another ?

Shell stuffed with abalone and some meat. Absolutely gorgeous!!! The restaurant's signature dish apparently.

Steamed garoupa (half gone) and some veg, and 's arm +hand.

Chiuchow dessert - crystal balls!! *LOL* They are really glutinous rice balls with different stuffing!

Will go see Superman Returns with my cousin Carina later. Yes I know I am like a whole month late but it will be my 2nd trip to the cinema in 2006 (how sad) and I am really looking forward to it!!

  • Sorry for not updating lately! It is way too hot in HK these days and I just don't feel like doing anything besides procrastination.

Anyway, congrats to my friend, pictured as a cab passenger below, whose boyfriend proposed but she rejected. You are weird. I told you he would propose soon ha ha!!
    ***** E D I T *****
Sorry for calling you weird. You know I didn't mean it!

Went to Teresa's house-warming dinner last Wednesday. If you do remember she was the one who got married in February to David.

We had sooooo much food that night. Omg it felt like we were at CLC again ha ha!!

On Thursday I went for a manicure + pedicure before dinner. I had never tried dark/ red colours before and I don't think I will try again!

On Saturday I hung out with Sankie. We marked out footprints all over Central and finally settled for dinner in a Chiuchow restaurant in Wanchai. We had to wait for 20 minutes to be seated. If I was with  then we would have gone elsewhere. But the food was great. Whenever I'm with someone from CLC we always tend to eat lots and lots, perhaps to make up of the 5 years when we were deprived of Chinese food ha ha ha!!!

OMG yesterday I went to my first ever cooking lesson! And I loved it! But for HK$290 I only got 6 chicken wings and 6 prawns. I wish we were given more food. I don't have photos of my own cooking because they looked ugly. Below are the chef's work:

    Lemongrass wings

    Fried prawns

    'Ma por' tofu

OMG!!!!! I have been wanting to post this since yesterday but I could not upload anything!!! Here it is: the weirdest injury!!!!!!!!!!

Someone chucked a pair of scissors out of a window, heading for a busy market street downstairs, and it poked through the poor 78y-o lady's hat and got stuck in her skull! Luckily the scissors only went 2mm deep into her head and it was not fatal.

5 hours later another pair of scissors fell and a pedestrian escaped with minor cuts to his face.

I am thinking maybe I should invest in a helmet... Hm...

  • blockfriendster

I can understand why 'Webmail', 'Personals' and 'Dating' are not allowed. But 'Society' and 'Lifestyles'? Why? Don't bosses have lives too?

FYI, we don't get to access any web-based email, youtube, and game-sites.

Here another website blocked and it is getting very hard for me to entertain myself during office hours... *yawn*
